Ministry Training Strategy

Ministry Training at TBC

Ministry Training at TBC

Our Ministry Training isn’t just for TBC; it’s part of a larger vision shared by like-minded churches across Australia through the Ministry Training Strategy (MTS). MTS aims to equip and empower gospel workers for the critical mission of reaching the millions of people in our country.

The MTS program is a 2-year journey where trainees are immersed in gospel ministry, learning to share the good news and teach the Bible under the guidance of an experienced trainer. This training includes five key components:

  1. Hands-on ministry experience
  2. Participation on the Church Connect and Care team
  3. Mentorship with a trainer
  4. A structured training curriculum
  5. Attending Conferences
By the end of the program, our prayer is that trainees will either pursue further theological study, equipping them for a lifetime of ministry, step into vocational ministry roles at TBC or other gospel-centered churches, or return to their professions with a strengthened ability to lead and serve in gospel ministry.

This program is dedicated to growing a fruitful church that sends and supports workers for the harvest. Our ministry apprentices commit to full-time service across various areas of church life, all while being equipped and trained for gospel ministry. Apprentices step out in faith, raising their own support as they trust in God’s provision and affirm their calling. As a church, let’s join in this important mission by supporting our apprentices through prayer, financial gifts, and ongoing encouragement. Together, let’s grow and equip workers for the future harvest!

CURRENT MINISTRY APPRENTICES

MADDIE

Hi! I’m Maddie, a 19-year-old from Toongabbie, Sydney. In 2024, I did “The Bridge” gap year at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC). Being constantly immersed in the Bible and especially in Mission opened my eyes to the sheer spiritual lostness in the world. It made me ask the question, why not go into ministry? I’m so very excited to embark on this MTS journey to explore this question further, to see people come to know Jesus as their Saviour, and to see God be glorified!

I’d love for you to partner with me on this journey, either through prayer or financial support. Together, let’s make and grow disciples for God’s glory!

LARISSA HARRISON

I’m Larissa, I’m 27, and I grew up in a Christian family. I’ve always known and loved Jesus, but it wasn’t until Year 7 that I fully understood the gospel and committed my life to following Him. After university, where I studied performing arts, I was encouraged to consider ministry. Through prayer and God’s work in my heart, I became an intern with Quiz Worx, a kids ministry organization, and pursued an Advanced Diploma of Ministry to strengthen my ministry skills.

At the start of this year, I began leading youth group at Toongabbie Baptist. Over the year, I sensed God calling me into church ministry, so I decided to begin an apprenticeship at my church to gain training specific to church ministry. I’m excited to see how this experience will equip me to serve churches, whether here in Toongabbie or even in regional Australia!

If you’d like to, please consider supporting me in my ministry training.
