Scott and Kim Parry-Jones have been married for over 35 years, have four adult children and a growing number of grand-children! They are both Christians, committed to the gathering of EV church (www.evchurch.info) on the Central Coast of Australia where Scott also serves on Church Council. Scott retired 10 years ago from the hands-on operation of a software company he founded and continues to own. Since that time he has been on Boards and working within many and varied Christian ministries in Australia and overseas, under umbrellas of poverty relief, economic development, church leadership development and mentoring, church planting and marriage ministries.
Kim, a former Primary School teacher, has a long history working with women’s ministries, Bible teaching, course development and mentoring. She is a qualified Relationship Counsellor where she has been practicing for many years. In response to the need for most marriages to be better equipped to weather the various stages of life, Kim developed the weekend retreat course called “Marriage Matters”, which Kim and Scott have run at their church to over 150 couples since 2007.
Additionally, to provide a one day seminar for groups of couples which could be run as a once per year revitalising refresher, Kim developed the Refresh series of seminars which build year upon year. Kim and Scott have run these Refresh seminars to church planting groups, denominations, churches and ministry teams Australia-wide since 2013. Both the Marriage Matters and Refresh courses are a combination of solid teaching to impart skills and wisdom, as well as discussions and time for couples to apply what they have learnt to their own marriages. Kim and Scott’s depth of knowledge, practical experience and role-plays, coupled with their easy going manner and sense of humour disarm the concerns most couples have coming to a marriage event so as to make the time spent rewarding, enriching and fun.
